Tea for Two

International Vintage Tunes

about us

  • On guitar and vocals we have Nik Barrell – a songwriter of note, with multiple albums recorded, tours around Europe and further afield. His love of vintage music began at an early age, as his mother was in an old-time London music-hall group and he grew up listening to Louis Armstrong and Muddy Waters. He fell in love with that sound and he’s been playing vintage music for so long, he’s in danger of becoming vintage himself 😉 He played for many years on the Alt-Folk and also Swing-Jazz scenes in London and Brighton’.

Over the years, his love of old music has taken him around the globe and he’s lived in many countries playing with local groups there, including in Cuba, Brazil, USA, Australia and Eastern Europe. The last few years were spent playing with both a Ukrainian Gypsy and a Russian blues band, but most recently he has come back to the UK and is working in a number of groups. He is currently playing lead guitar and vocals in a touring Buddy Holly theatre show, rhythm guitar and vocals with the Wonderful Four (a swing and pop group from Guildhall Jazz course) and guitar and vocals for a duo working for the Disney cruise lines. Based now in Brighton, where he has his own recording studio, Nik is very excited about bringing his experience and style to ‘Tea For Two’
